The story
After a brief hiatus, I am thrilled to introduce my latest Authentic Film Presets collection for Luminar Neo.
What you will find in this Pack:
The Authentic Film Portraits Presets pack contains 12 amazing emulations of famous films, modified and adapted for portrait photography. Whether you’re editing close-up shots, nature scenes, commercial shoots, or artistic projects, you will find a great variety of options. I hope you enjoy them!
Authentic: This Preset enhances the natural beauty of skin. Personally, I believe that natural skin is a canvas on which an infinite number of details can be appreciated. That’s why I love to capture it and showcase its splendor.
Just as I capture flowers with a macro lens, I enjoy taking close-up portraits that allow me to appreciate every hue and texture of the human skin. I developed this Preset to enhance details and present them more powerfully.
By using this Preset on my photographs, I can create close-up portraits with a detailed and complete narrative that allows the audience to connect and feel moved. I put a lot of effort into developing this Preset to make it the ideal tool for enhancing the natural beauty of skin in close-up portraits and telling stories through photography.
Clear: This Preset is specifically designed to enhance the natural beauty of outdoor portraits, particularly at sunset. It carefully enhances the colors of the scene and transforms it into a film-like image based on the popular Kodak Portra 800, which is one of my favorite films. Although designed for natural outdoor portrait situations, Clear can also be used in many other situations and scenes. I encourage you to experiment with it, along with other Presets, to enhance your portraits. I am confident that the final result will surprise you.
Genuine: With the adjustments in the Genuine Preset, you can achieve sharper and more prominent details in your photographs while making the natural light appear brighter and warmer. This effect is perfect for giving a nostalgic touch to your images and for making your urban portraits even more evocative and full of personality.
Furthermore, by using this adjustment in your photos, you can create a unique and original atmosphere that gives your images a special aura, setting them apart from any conventional photo. Inherent: This Preset is designed to highlight the scene as a whole, offering a unique dystopian and surrealist touch. Based on the Genuine Preset, Inherent has more contrast and uses a purple color range to create a sense of fantasy.
It is especially suitable for indoor scenes, although it also works well on nighttime portraits with city lights. In addition, it offers fun adjustments that convey a warm and welcoming feeling.

Intrinsic: I created this Preset after a portrait session I did in the picturesque town of Biarritz in the French Riviera. Inspired by a subtle cinematic touch, it’s designed to transform any portrait into a movie scene. Intrinsic is ideal for close-up portraits, although it can also be used for any other type of portrait. It works best with natural evening light, as it’s designed to create a vintage style.
Native: The Native Preset enhances dark or mysterious portrait scenes, creating a cinematic style that boosts the drama of the image. The goal is to capture portraits with low light but with many details and expressions, using a vintage touch to add even more intrigue to the scene. This adjustment is especially suitable for indoor portraits, although it also works well with dark outdoor scenes such as alleys or markets. The Marrakech souk market served as inspiration.
Natural: For this Preset, I focused on making subtle changes to the portrait. As the name suggests, my goal was to enhance color and contrast in a natural way while giving the image a warm touch that takes advantage of the last rays of sunlight. This effect is ideal for close-up portraits, but it’s also useful for wider scenes. It works perfectly for natural settings, but it also performs well in urban and industrial environments.
With the Natural Preset, you’ll be able to enhance the quality of your portraits without altering their essence too much. You’ll achieve a subtle yet powerful effect that will enhance the beauty of your photographs and make them stand out. Although inspired by a wedding scene, this Preset can be used for a variety of photographic occasions. It is one of my all-time favorite adjustments because of its ability to add drama and emotion.

Pure: This Preset has been specifically designed for studio photographs with a white background and plenty of natural light. It offers subtle adjustments, perfect for portraits or stock scenes. The subject in the photo receives a small improvement to the skin along with appropriate saturation, allowing for increased presence without sacrificing the original essence of the scene. In stock photography, the more natural and pure the editing, the better the result. With this Preset, you can get the best results for your stock photo shoot in just one click.
Real: This photo adjustment is perfect for highlighting the personality of models in natural and authentic portraits. It has been designed to apply subtle yet significant modifications, including skin treatment, light corrections, saturation, and contrast, all to enhance the natural details of the image.

Unadorned: This Preset enhances portrait photos taken indoors in a studio setting. With a touch of blue and considerable desaturation, it aims to create a sense of natural beauty. It’s recommended for portrait photos with low lighting, whether taken with natural or studio light.
The effect created by this Preset is based on a palette of soft and harmonious colors that add depth and contrast. Additionally, desaturation allows the details and expressions of the subject to be the focus of the photograph.

Based in Lleida, Catalonia, Javier Pardina is a photographer and multimedia artist whose commercial work sees him shooting for advertising agencies, stock platforms, corporate brands, and creative agencies. Javier focused his university studies on photography, video, and graphic/3D design. Since 2004, he hasn’t stopped improving and learning all these subjects.
