Adelain Cioli

I’m Adelain Cioli, a filmmaker, professional colorist, photographer, and educator based in France but I work worldwide. My relationship with photography has always been closely connected to cinema. For years, I’ve worked with cameras, lenses, color science, and post-production both as a creator andas an educator. teach filmmaking and color grading, create educational content for a large French speaking community, and regularly explore new imaging technologies through realworld productions and camera testing. Photography is another way for me to approach the same thing I’m constantly looking for in cinema: light, color, texture, and emotion. My work tends to have a cinematic approach. I’m less interested in creating a technically perfect image than in understanding what makes an image feel right how color can change an atmosphere, how light can guide attention, or how a simple everyday scene can become memorable. That balance between creativity and technology is also what I enjoy about tools such as Luminar: technology becomes interesting when it disappears behind the image and gives us more freedom to create. Whether I’m shooting photographs, directing, grading a film, or teaching, my motivation remains the same: understanding images deeply enough to make them communicate something.
