I’m Rafael Sotomayor, M. Photog., M. Wed. Photog., Cr., CPP, a portrait photographer based in Dorado, Puerto Rico, with a passion for capturing natural, beautiful moments.

For the past 37 years, I have dedicated my career to portrait and wedding photography, as well as to educating and inspiring photographers throughout my country. Creating portraits in diverse environments and seeking the best possible light have been the driving forces behind my artistic journey.

My work has been published in Professional Photographer Magazine and in numerous Image of Excellence (Loan Collection) books by Professional Photographers of America. It has also appeared in various local bridal and community publications in Puerto Rico.

Throughout my career, I have received multiple international awards and professional distinctions, including the Master of Photography degree, the Master of Wedding Photography degree, and the Photographic Craftsman degree from PPA. I am also a Certified Professional Photographer.

Natural light has always been my greatest source of inspiration, allowing me to create images with depth, emotion, and impact—much like the beauty of Puerto Rico and its breathtaking sunsets. My style is defined by a deep respect for light and its power to transform every scene.
