Hinami Kimura

I’m Hinami Kimura, a photographer based in Kanagawa, Japan, specializing in everyday snapshots that capture light, color, and quiet moments in daily life. I first discovered photography while I was a university student. What began as a personal interest gradually became an important way for me to observe and express the world around me. Over the years, I have continued photographing everyday scenes in Japan and during my travels abroad, while also working on publications, exhibitions, workshops, and collaborations with photography brands. My photography is often inspired by small moments that might otherwise go unnoticed — sunlight falling across a street, flowers growing by the roadside, reflections, shadows, or subtle changes in color. Rather than planning every image in advance, I enjoy walking with my camera and responding intuitively to the light and atmosphere I encounter. Editing is also an important part of my creative process. My goal is not to completely transform what I photographed, but to bring the image closer to the light, color, and feeling that made me want to press the shutter in the first place. Through my photography, I hope to share the beauty that can be found in ordinary moments and inspire others to notice the small scenes around them.
